"Palestinian Jerusalemites have experienced some of the worst attacks in recent history.... Palestinian protests against the forced expulsion of four families were met with violent responses by Israeli police. On Friday (the last Friday of Ramadan), Israeli forces stormed the Al-Aqsa mosque compound and fired tear gas and live ammunition at the worshipers. As usual, this received scant attention in the mainstream press. Imagine the uproar in the press had there been an equal and opposite attack on an Israeli synagogue on Judaism’s holiest day, for example. Moreover, imagine what the Israeli reprisals would be."
